FAQs

There are always a million reasons why you shouldn’t take time out for yourself, but we’ve thought of every conceivable reason about why you absolutely SHOULD come and written them down here. We’ve also answered all of those niggling logistical questions you might have too. Needless to say, if you have more questions, get in touch, we’ll answer those too!

I probably don’t need to tell you that working in HR is bloody tough, yet we’re rarely given the support we need to cope with it in a healthy, sustainable way. Compound that by being a woman and dealing with often invisible barriers in our workplaces, and it’s no wonder that so many of us lose our confidence, question our impact and begin to doubt if we’ve got what it takes to succeed in the profession that we’ve invested so much of ourselves in.

The Big Meet is all about re-claiming our space in the world as the bloody brilliant professionals that we are, and that starts with believing that we’re worthy of the same love and attention that we give to everyone else. This event will put you front and centre for an entire day and empower you to prioritise yourself and proactively meet your own needs before trying to meet everyone else’s.

Absolutely not! Sure, a large part of the attendees will be HR Club members but that just means you’re guaranteed connection and networking time with some of the most amazing women working in HR today. So, if you’re a woman working in HR, we’d love to see you!

Nervous about taking time out for yourself? This is EXACTLY why you need to come.

You can’t spare the time? You mean you’re not important enough to be at the top of your ‘to do’ list? Another reason why you need to come.

Worried that other people might think you’re ‘weak’ for wanting to concentrate on your wellbeing? OK, so it’s time to practice what you preach (you know you do). Well then, that’s exactly why you should come too.

You are not alone. You’re not the only one feeling pretty damn exhausted right now. Come connect with people who really get what it’s like and together let’s do amazing things.

Nope, just yourselves. And we mean that – no pretence, leave the job title at the door and come as you are. Hmmm, maybe bring some paper and a pen, but other than that we’ve got you sorted.

Yeah! How swish are we?! Lunch is provided, as are refreshments (tea, coffee, water etc.) during the day. If you have dietary requirements, you’ll get the chance to tell us when you buy your ticket.

Sure, if you’re a woman in HR and all the iterations of that there can be. L&D, Reward, Recruitment etc. etc. – this is for you.

NGL, it’s really powerful when you connect with other people who are going through the same things as you. So being open to saying hi and making friends is 100% encouraged. BUT if it’s not your bag, no one’s going to be forcing you into anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. There are going to be opportunities for connection OR reflection during the day, so you can interact in a way that feels good and right for you.

Yes, there will be an area to leave your coats and bags that you don’t want to be carrying around with you on the day. You’ll be shown where everything is when you arrive.
