Imagine a networking event where you can find YOUR people. The ones who don’t take themselves too seriously. The ones who don’t think that swearing is a cardinal sin, who stare into the face of “you can’t say that, you’re HR!” and tell it to go forth and multiply. The ones who are really serious about what they do, but aren’t afraid to not take themselves too seriously.
‘Normal’ HR events look like this:
- Entirely focused on how you do HR for other people
- Surface level connection where you feel you’re in a “who’s launched the best HR initiative recently” competition
- Lots of ideas but not much to take away with you to put into practice

Who are The HR Mini-Meets for?
The HR Mini-Meet is the off-shoot event from The HR Big Meet and it’ll give you a chance to experience The Big Meet vibe in a smaller, more intimate environment.
Whilst The Big Meet focuses on amplifying the voices of women in HR and goes in hard on the celebration of our stories as humans in HR, The HR Mini-Meets goes a little deeper on your personal development.

Our time together will look a little something like this:
- A morning session focused on your personal development. We’ll cover topics like speaking with impact, building your confidence, setting boundaries – you know, all the things we’re all struggling with but because we never talk about it we think it’s just us.
- A lunchtime connection session (with lunch provided) where you get to know each other and explore opportunities to support one another moving forward.
- An afternoon ‘mastermind’ where you’ll put all your incredible wisdom and experience to good use by contributing to a professional challenge.
What do we mean by ‘The Big Meet vibe’? Well, in short, this means we leave our job titles at the door, we connect to each other human to human, we celebrate the shizzle out of one another and we walk away feeling our most resourced, unstoppable, powerful selves.
You’re in the driving seat
Whilst the day is hosted by Emma Djemil (you can read more about her below), you’re going to be the ones who decide what we cover. Ahead of time, you’ll be invited to share your most pressing concerns / queries / challenges both as a human in HR and as someone trying to HR for other people, and we’ll work on the things that will benefit the majority of you.
Here’s why you should come:
- You want to have some fun! You’re so over not having anyone to talk to or to bounce ideas off of, and you’re ready to turbo-charge your connections!
- You can totally put this on the company account because there’s technical stuff included #Cheeky
- We’ll be running from 10:30am – 2:30pm so no early starts, no need to stay over (unless you want to) and it’s not a whole day out of the office (unless you stick around for some optional connection and co-working after 2:30pm of course)
- There are no sponsors, no sales, no pitches, no awks icebreakers – just humans in HR connecting in all their awesome glory.
Emma Djemil

After a career in HR spanning over 18 years both in-house and as a consultant, I know all too well the highs and the lows of being in the people profession.
My career progressed at pace until a bullying manager killed my confidence and shifted my view of work, and of myself. Since then I’ve delved deep into my personal development journey, found my purpose and rebuilt my confidence to deliver it.
I truly believe that enabling you to have a different experience of being in HR is the key to changing everyone’s experience of work.
I see you, you fabulous rebel. I know you’re not like ‘normal HR’ and I know you’re ready you’re ready to make your biggest impact in a sustainable way.
